Agreed, compared to a Norton commando and triumph Bonneville of the same time it was leagues ahead, and no the Japanese didn`t destroy the British bike industry they just failed to innovate and keep up.
It was miles ahead of a Commando or Bonneville but was it that far ahead of the triples? They could have gone a lot further with the CB750 but being Honda they held back.

The RC30 was just a vastly improved version of a road bike so hardly innovative.

Where they could have smashed it was when they beat the others in bringing out a turbo charged bike but they stuck it on the CX500!

If you look back over the decades at any given market sector Honda usually have the sensible model in that sector and that's why I can't help thinking they're dull and need painting beige :)

ktm bmw bracket??14/15 grand ...or the tiger market at ten grand ...just wondering at 9995 its going to blow the market apart
im going to go for 10995 same as the 1050ktm ...any one care to join in the guessing game
I'm hoping they take a leaf out of Yamaha's MT book and put the cat among the overpriced pigeons, sub £10k (maybe just over for DCT version), sub 200kg and Honda's best build quality would see them take the market by storm. Honda aren't reknowned for this approach but the all new NC range certainly sells at a competitive price so you never know. (thumbs)

Really can't see it being less than 200kg.

I don't udnerstand as well why they have gone for such a low fender. There are issues with every bike which has one, you take it offroad in muddy conditions and they break. Even in the desert a rock can break one if it gets in between, there needs to be at least a 3 inch gap between wheel and fender. First mod for this bike will be fender relocation brackets. Also seat looks really low to me, more pandering to the short arse brigade.

Love how it looks. A few variants apparently coming out but I'll have a stab at £11k.
