That looks to be a good cover for the price. I was recently quoted £65 plus £9 postage by ppseat.co.uk.

Are you going for the same colour again on the frame? I think gunmetal looks pretty good on a DR.

they've done a decent job of the seat for £25, decided not to powder coat the frame but spend the extra cash on the running gear.
Waiting for the forks to be done and then I can start to put it back together

so far cost has been

Bike £500
Tank £240
Suspenders about £170
seat £25
and sundries including rear frame and pannier carrier £260
a set of heated grips donated and a pair of spots have been promised
just over £1100 should get me a decent bike which will kill or cure this silly urge to go further a field and to continue when the tarmac stops

cheers Spud ;)
The frame will be rubbed down and then painted

Good oh! Probably a good idea to just spruce it for the time being, til you find how you get on with it at least.

As for wanting to ride-to and then go off road, I've rode mine to the Catalan Pyrenees twice so far and loved it. Great memories, because I got to see more at the slower pace on the way. Not sure I would want to do the same on my 690 enduro. The DR’s a far more mellow ride me thinks.

DR's are just so simple and cheap to keep. Can’t see myself ever selling my old girl.

I plan on doing the HISS in September on it nice steady ride down  cruise at 50 ish, a mate has just offered a light weight tent for the trip, I'll take that and a tarp.

back to the bike the rear linkage has seized so that needs sorting, new plug in fresh oil and tappets done, exhaust was slightly tight but all else seems good.

Speedo drive fubar so that's another little job
With regards to selling she's a keeper for several years at least then may be a CCM

cheers Spud ;)

Can I ask what you've had done to the forks?

I took mine off today and I've been trying to get the seals off...damaged.

Manual just says 'remove'....maybe I'm missing something.

Only the bottom one is leaking anyway...just thought I'd do them all ....(sigh).

Sorry to butt in..
