Just a few for the Rogues Gallery:

Image

Phil, aka Roastbeef, leading Skippy out on a ride - thus was formed the 'I'm following Phil' group :)

Image

SteveW and Billy, aka, 'Bowman660z' exchanging notes.

Image

I'll leave it to Spud to consider why this picture looked familiar to me - Graham, so far not a ABR inmate, getting the 'once over' . . .

Mick, aka MickDB1, deciding whether Aragon is as big as Derbyshire (thumbs)

Next instalment, the adventures of The Flatulent Five . . .

A few highlights of our little 'Jolly' - far back in the memory banks of the participants now . . .

WillS, Graham and self on our way to the rendez-vous on Saturday, HISS -2 (thumbs)

A shockingly early start on Sunday, HISS -1, finds us in the Pyrenees.

Soon rectified by the 'Standard Issue' ABR ride report image of boys behaving badly

Repeating our Magnificent Entrance into the Bardena Blanca desert . . .

Over to the rest of you old farts; WillS, Graham, Peterpan and SteveR, for more

Hi everyone,

Got home safely last night after a leisurely trip through France. Visited Chartres on the way up and saw a magnificent light show around the Cathedral and much of the town. Its on for most of the year, so riders to HISS Catalonia may consider it a useful stopover. Well worth the visit.

Many thanks to Simon and Polly for another great event, full of good trails, (must have been as I didn't fall off), good company, a great atmosphere, and a fantastic restaurant/bar next to the campsite.

Warmest regards to all.

Looking forward to September.

I would like to add my deepest thanks to Simon and Polly for all the effort they put into a great event in a fantastic location. Unfortunately for me a deer skittled me off the bike at low speed and cut short what was going to be a superb weeks riding. It was no ones fault and just bad luck, probably a chance in a million.
I owe a huge debt to Mickdb1 and Jonah for getting me back the to campsite and the guy with a very tidy BMW Paris Dakar, whose name I forget, for riding my bike back too. Simon and Polly went beyond the call of duty to help get me sorted out before my travel insurance flew me home with a broken ankle. The bike is also on its way back.

Thankyou again Mickdb1, Jonah, Paris Dakar guy and Simon and Polly for all your help, it was very very much appreciated and not forgotten.

Hi Paul,

Great to know you're home and in the mood for posting - thanks for the pix.

Your other 'good Samaritan' is called Graham. He was a bit grounded with a broken starter motor and had to order a new one from the UK, so your call for help probably took his mind off it. Nice bike though wasn't it (thumbs)

My mind, what there is of it, was also occupied with sourcing spokes for Steve's XT Yamaha from Zaragoza and have the delivered to Teruel, plus find a water pump for Tony's Dakar and have that delivered to 'my' BMW for them to rendez-vous there and have that fitted . . .

Polly and I think we just did what anyone else would do to help a fellow biker - or even human being, the two not necessarily the same  - in need, so no overtures or medals . . .

I've been reading your trip report over on the Versys site - makes me want a Versys even more . . .

Chaps it was Colin aka Tetley who had the airhead GS and rode back the bike after the venison incident.

Bart1 so pleased you are making good progress, having spoken to you that very morning (on my way to find wifi at the seated area by the entrance), I was shocked to hear of your misfortune.
