The Dakar is still going very well, thank you for asking
The Honda needs a service, it's not been used for a while. Then will give a run out.
Last service was at 1000km in 2014, and only 3200km on the clock today. So think it's a time factor rather than km
Steve Bunce was with us on his nice 800GS.

Super U do 100% synthetic moto oil for €7.28 for two litres for info....

Lovely video Keith but it's better ti refer to the region as a while as 'Los Monegros' rather the Baedenas, which is avery specific area ...
OK, I'm in nitpicking mode as I'm [strike]avoiding[/strike] in the middle of completing and very pernickety job ...
Meanwhile back to Los Monegros ...

well .. to answer my own question .. no!, the foot gear change lever from a crf250X does NOT fit the crf250L ... the shaft on the `L` is narrower.
However, the handguards from the `X` can be made to fit the `L` if you bend and twist them :S o .. and bodge the inner fixings :S
The 42 tooth rear cog from MandP WILL fit ... but you have to ream the bolt holes out to 10mm from 8mm :pinch:
tip .. fit the chain to the sprocket BEFORE inserting the spindle as it is a tight fit all round.
will try the 14/42 sprocket combo tomorrow hopefully ( I do a lot of road work). [14/40 is std]

Been thinking about buying one of these CRF250 bikes as a second bike.
Road tested the Rally version a couple of times and also the standard L. I really liked each of them, but i think i prefer the simplicity and lack of bodywork on the standard L.
Anyway, as my Tracer 900 was write off totalled by a feckwit coach driver today when he reversed into me.... i'm gonna try and get a deal on a new CRF250 this week.
Will probably be buying another Tracer when insurance coughs up.

Can anyone compare the 2017 CRF250L in torque and accelaration against the previous model?

The speedo will be out, mine is out by about 10km with a 13 on the front and standard on the rear.
Just back from the Aragon HISS and it pulled up all the climbs in 2nd gear no problem, great little tourque bike.
Have a look at the video/s just posted on the Aragon HISS with the CRF250L.
It's really a great trail / dual sport bike, and what great fun you can have all day for 5€'s worth of fuel!!

I think the speed is from the gearbox, definatley not from the front wheel.
I tend to rely on the GPS for the speed, as changing sprockets always changes the accuracy of the speedo reading.
With the 13/42 it was out by 20kmh, but lots of acceleration !!
Much better with the 13/40.
