I think the BBC have lost the plot. In their Radio 2 news bulletins they are referring to Angela Merkel as 'the chancellor, Angela Merkel'...I think they have forgotten that's she's German and not British. Shouldn't they be saying 'the German chancellor, Angela Merkel'

I think they all lost the plot along time ago

there may never be a "Brexit" it may never be needed as the EU folds upon itself and implodes and splits North East and south

Juncker proposes EU military headquarters. The European Union needs a military headquarters to work towards a common military force, the Commission president has told MEPs in Strasbourg.

I'm glad we voted 'OUT'.
I for one hope it comes off, will be useful to have something between us and Putin, we can't rely on the good old English Channel next time or the Yanks if madman trump gets in
No EU army is going to stand up to Putin if he really wanted to make a mess. Europe has scaled back it's forces left right and centre in the belief we live in a safe world. US is the only country that can do it.

If Trump gets in we will have a wordwide crisis of some sort about something.
I agree that if Putin really wants to get messy than any current or even near future EU force won't last long but any buffer is welcome and the more time I get to inflate my life raft and try to paddle my way to the Azores the better :S

Putin will never invade Europe. But when he does, why should he stop at the channel ?
The EU is part of NATO, so is the US...
Large scale wars are a thing of the past. There's too much involved in the western world to risk anything of that order.
The other thing is migration. There has been too much migration to risk attacks from "inside" in case of large scale wars. There are hotspots around the world to provide customers for arms and testing new technology on that front.
It'll end in tears I tells ya.

The EU is part of NATO but it does not want to be it wants it's own army so America does not tell it what to do, cake and eat it come to mind.

Large scale wars are a thing of the past  Iraq, Afgan and Syria comes to mind of course they may not matter as they were not in the EU.

There's been to much migration oh dear..... attacks from the inside so let's just open our borders to who ever want to walk through without any sort of vetting because as Mad Merkel has said "we can cope"

Cheers Spud ;)

So there are no immigrants in the UK then ?

Anyway, with large scale wars I meant BIG wars between multiple countries/nations. Akin to world wars.

A full blown EU army won't happen. You can take my word for it. There's enough friction/difference/dissatisfaction between the EU members that an EU army would be impossible. No matter what Juncker says.

But to get back on topic Spud: Any guesses where this Brexit ship is heading?
Genuine please, not the things you dream of.

where is the Brexit ship going, we extricate ourselves and start dealing with the world, why do you need more than that ?

I think you need to be concerned with where the EU is going not where we are going

Immigration in the UK we have always had it, so what's the problem with that, my Father was an immigrant and my Mrs is an immigrant I have Asian mates who are immigrants and believe it or not an German mate who is an immigrant who rants when he deals with anyone who is an immigrants who can't/wont speak English

Look to your own borders mate and not fret so much about ours although very touching it is (thumbs)

cheers Spud ;)
