But you have summarised only the bits you are interested in. Sweden for instance don't want any part of it nor will others. Most little European nobodies will have nothing to add and it will be full of in fighting and bickering.

It will be a joke that gets nothing done. A bigger one than NATO.

Any way I think this thread has run its course for me. People should just get on and deal with it.

The view of the UK has been good enough to put the brakes on it so far, but if you read the comments of the brexiteers on this thread we have no say in the EU.

Which countries are they then?

"A Brussels-controlled army itself is a pipe dream. And yet, it is easy for British Euroskeptics to raise the specter of the threat.

The reality is there is not enough political will in Europe’s key member countries. David Cameron is not alone in his staunch rejection of the idea. Ireland guards its neutrality zealously and secured a protocol stating explicitly that the Lisbon Treaty did not provide for the creation of such a force. France would rather get the rest of Europe to support French operations in Mali and the Sahel."

The EU cannot create an army without unanimous approval of all member states.

Yes, Sweden is another one. Finland, Austria too.

It already is a joke TBH, an EU army is nothing more than a scare story. The fact so many people based their vote on it is just scary! Proves why direct democracy is a bad idea.

Trouble is the thread can't run it's course while there are still people out there peddling myth, because the forum seems to be full of people that will believe anything that's anti EU.

Juncker proposes EU military headquarters. The European Union needs a military headquarters to work towards a common military force, the Commission president has told MEPs in Strasbourg.

I'm glad we voted 'OUT'.
Well there's some spin if ever I saw it. Pick out a few lines and present them as your case. Why don't you post the whole article for everyone to read?

It's a headline. Anyone with an ounce of common sense would have realised that

However, from you posts on here it doesn't surprise me that you didn't... :P

The only thing worse than a bad loser is a gloating winner who can't make a point without shouting.

I'm not a bad loser. I just don't understand why I would have to be insulted.
