Scotland is a nice place to ride but it has one simple drawback for me. I can be in the Alps in the same time as it takes me to get to the highlands.

Although a valid point Mike, the Highlands have a special beauty.....in the Alps it's only your wallet that gets bled dry :laugh:

Going to the Highlands for me is slightly masochistic, rather than looking forward to going, I'm usually looking forward to reminiscing, in front of the fire.

The last time I wild camped up there it rained continuously for 5 days (which did keep the midgies down a bit) but made for a feckin miserable trip

All these pictures of sunny days is making me quite jealous
