I like G shocks but a grand for one is a hell of a lot of dosh. I think that if I was spending that on another watch I'd want one likely to go up in value over the years and I'm not sure that a Casio will do that.

The Rolex brand to me look quite boring, I don't see the hype with them at all.

I buy watches to wear, not to keep in the box for a decade in the hope it may go up in value.
I don't believe watches are a good investment anyway.... you may make a few bob buying one from a clueless seller that's vastly under priced it, but generally people will research the value of things, especially expensive Swiss watches.

My little collection.
I've had them all from new.
From the left:-
1966 Rolex Submariner
1991 Longines 5* Admiral Explorer
2012 Seiko Divers
......all these have screw down crowns & are therefore very waterproof.....
2013 Seiko 5 Sports
2010 Seiko 5
All are Automatic.

The "Easiest" of these to wear & the best timekeeper is the last one & this was also the cheapest @ about 50 pounds.It's within about 1 min/month.
Love em all & they all get worn regularly.
Value for money is definately the Seiko automatics. Superb movement & very good casework & straps

The Seiko I've had 30 years and needs a little repair but you've got to love watches....

Rolex are far too overhyped. Breitlings (I have two) are like Christmas cracker prizes.

What you need is a British made, British designed masterpiece. This is mine.
