You're making me fancy doing a similar trip for myself. I'd go for the wild camping approach but I'm not sure that wandering a few yards off into the trees to find a decent spot to camp then wandering even further for the evening constitutional would be a good idea :unsure:

That was my idea Andy , but wild camping and rain of that amount at my age don't mix and to be honest at €10 a night and around €5 for a good meal IMHO , it aint worth carrying the gear , that said i'd always take my bash and brew stuff

The loop back took us to the high road , beautiful but cold !!!! i know i keep ranting on about the cold and wet................ BUT it was nigh on JUNE and i was heading south !!!



The trail up here was great that good in fact i forgot to take any pics , probably around 25kms untill we started dropping down and ran into our first humans since this morning !!

Anyway they blocked the road and had turned the trail into slake mud on packed stone !!! proper slippy :laugh:



And a good old soviet mini bus for the loggers



AS we cleared the forest guess what happened



We were heading roughly for Livno in Bosnia and ran into this town can,t remember the name but stopped for food and ended up with a feast of meat meat meat and meat but soz no pics :dry:



For the eagle eyed among you you may have noticed the flowers on the conker tree in the last pic, here in FR we have baby conkers !!!just shows how far behind the season is there!!

After being fd and watered we hit the road and headed for a point on Phins map "Ramsko Jezaro" to stay on the isle of SCIT....... yes its pronounced SHIT

That's what Mark R and a couple of other friends found when they decided to ride to Istanbul and back for a beer but I've got a tiny little single skinned Gore tex tent that takes up next to no room and I'd always take it with me on a trip like that.

I worked in Slovenia for 6 weeks about 15 years ago and we were eating out in really nice restaurants for under a tenner including beers. What made it even better was that we were on £40/night expenses after the hotel was paid for which leaves a tidy little tax free bonus on completion of the job.

The morning broke dry and cold and that evening i'd decided to head south ,the reality of my condition hit home and i was completly knackered

Steve was going east to Bulgaria and Phin was carrying on south even though the forcast was for another wek of rain and storms !!

We said our farewells and i headed for the sun .....direction Mostar

Had a little detour



Arrived in Mostar and did the tourist bit







The old town was very interesting and bareing plenty of scares

Time to leave so punched in Dubrovnik the long way

Got turn off the road here







There were more abandoned shot out houses all over

This road was truly bizzar !!! seems to have been a major road at one time but all mine then



Ended up here



Had a little walk round and don't really know what to say :unsure:







No wild camping around here :S and further down the road came across this UN sign
The "You are here" spot was right in the middle of that mine field!!!



These girls wander freely and the thought struck me that sooner or later some must get blown up :pinch:



Not long after there the main road started and i joined it and headed south west
