Been using a set of these this year and impressed thus far. Have got them biblically wet with no ingress of the wet stuff. HTH.

I broke my big toe in my teens on a motorbike so after 34 years of car driving wanted a pair of boots with proper toe protection, that would look ok off the bike, would be comfortable and wouldn't have steel toe caps and freeze my toes off in winter. I got a pair of these http://www.safetybootsuk.co.uk/jallatte ... 90805.html they are super comfy, wore them all day today in the office today (dress down friday) and no-one commented. On a plus side they are VAT free as they are classed as workwear, on the downside in terrential rain or riding through losy of big puddles they aren't water proof, need to get them treated with nixwax or something.

Altberg Hoggs for me. Bloody brilliant ! I have worn them in -5 to +40 & I wouldn't even know I had them on, warm when its cold & still comfortable in 40 degrees. Great for walking & only ever let water in after 500 miles of monsoon weather on motorways when I forgot to wax them. The only negative is that they are a compromise on shin & lower leg protection, but this is the price you pay for mobility & comfort.

I have had a pair of Altberg Clubman Roadster since the early 90's they have never leaked, are very warm in the cold (I ride all year round) and are comfortable to walk in.

I would highly recommend them

I've got Altberg Hoggs All weather lite, which are first rate and good for mixed everything and all day riding.
Recently however got a pair of Altberg Roadriders which are a bit longer in the shaft [no draughts up under pants/leggings] and yet can be slipped into really quickly. I've found them much more suitable for commuting.
Remember Altberg stuff is made to order, [Not the Roadrider it's off the shelf, but some of the others can take a long time. Allow weeks and weeks!]
Not cheap, but one pair of Altbergs will probably outlive several other £££ boots.

I'm on my second pair of W2s, the first pair started leaking after about 11months, it seemed like the membrane just gave up and they just wetted right through, so I took them back and they replaced them. I use them everyday rain or shine, they are very warm, (some say to warm for the summer).
The replacement pair I have used Nikwax for suede and nubuck treatment and so far so good, nothing worse than cold or wet feet.

I have altbergs bought second hand off ebay i cannot fault them in the slightest. In the summer i ride in docs if weather permits.

To be honest, I'd be careful because although they may be warm and dry, how well would they stand up to an off on tarmac as opposed to the snow that they are designed for? Somewhat different coefficient of friction. For the same money I would be getting good old Altberg
