for the price i paid i guess i was under no illusions i would ever draw upon the warranty...you would need to keep the WK service up to date as per schedule and at the cost of the garage per service, i decided not worth it and have done any work myself from day one so warranty well and truly void.....still think the TPS could do with a fettle but need to test its current settings when i get round to it before i change any position so i can go back to its current position at any time...

It's not about how much you pay, they still sell wk bikes and if we post about how they treat there customer then we help other to get a better service,
The dealer that sold me the bike has gone tits up for some reason, I'll end up doing the work myself that ok as I then no it's done to my spec.....

anyone with a WK400 trail know how to reset the ECU light on the dash, had a fault today which i cleared but after the initial light on then off now have 4 flashes which is level 2 fault codes, plan to ring WK in the week but wondered if someone already knows....already tried battery disconnect which doesn't work so needs the clear sequence like the WK650i:-

1. Apply WOT (full throttle)
2. Turn ignition key to ON position.
3. Wait until the red FI/F1 light illuminates (be patient as this can take longer than normal).
4. As soon as red F1 appears,
5. Flick the kill switch to the 'ON' ignition position (meaning starter button won't work).
6. Let go of the WOT (throttle).
7. Wait several seconds.
8. Turn ignition key OFF.
9. Flick kill switch back to ignition ON position.

This doesn't work on the 400 unfortunately

What type of ecu connection does the WK have can you connect a OBD-II Engine System Diagnostic Tool to it for diagnostics?

I dont think it has an OBD-II, i think it will be a sequence of some sort, stand on one leg, hop up and down 10 times, pat your head with your finger in your ear type of thing :unsure:

Just over 1300, all good to date did the first service a while back, next one i will check the tappets as well as the oil change and serrvice shedule requirements. Just been investigating adjusting the TPS, will report after ive had time to test the bike at various settings to see if it improves the running and occasional cutting out. Got a fault code becuase i ran the bike too long doing some TPS testing in the workshop and it got very hot.....

Hi all. Took my bike to the taffy Dakar rally in the brecons this weekend. Did just under 600 miles including the ride there and back, approx 70 miles off road work on the green lanes and a play on a small enduro track. The bike performed faultlessly and was more than capable off road. I have some videos from the lanes and when I get time I'll make a montage. Cheers, Norton

Sounds good, looks like its been well tested off road......interested on what tyres you have and how well they work on tarmac

Brilliant weekend if you ever get a chance, most people go trailer/van their bikes but I've rode every time. The wk is alot more comfortable than my ccm 404 was. Good mix of trails, fire roads, slate, mud, grass, big puddles.
I went with the maxxis maxxcross it tyres in the end. They were great offroad, on the road they're OK but a bit sketchy when crossing the white lines, sets the bike wobbling a lot.
