Hurray for you, glad it's finally arriving. I'm sure it'll have been worth the wait.moto al wrote:it arrives Thursday this week with three others , all in the red white and blue colour scheme. (thumbs) .Alsteve172 wrote:Al, have you actually got your bike yet?

A good answer. Hard to argue with thatCRAIGREVO wrote:jonny955 wrote:Saw it up close yesterday at the Excel show.
Although I have no doubt it's a very good bike, I don't see what the fuss is about. It's nothing new - just another heavy adventure bike. Honda and the AT fans over-hyped it to the point that the real bike was bound to be a bit disappointing, regardless of how good it is.
I don't see what it has over the KTM 1190 - sorry!
Jon
#1 It doesn't look like a lanky sports bike.
#2 £4000 cheaper
#3 Honda reliability
#4 DCT option
Another question for the AT designers and indeed the designers of nearly all the bike ADV bikes: Is there seriously no option for tucking the exhaust out of the way? I know we have Euro 4 and it would need a bit of work, perhaps splitting the system into two smaller units but I get mildly upset and could crush a grape when seeing these new bikes all have vulnerable headers and silencers.
Honda have made a big deal of this one being an off-roader too!

To be honest in many ways you cant compare the 1190 and the AT. Its probably better comparing the AT to the 800GS, Tiger 800XC and KTM 1050.dibbs wrote:Oh! me and smudger are going up there next Saturday to look at the AT. Im also thinking of the KTM 1190 adventure r, and seeing that you wouldn't change yours is interesting.
The 1190(r) has a much bigger engine and more horses so its better to compare it with the 1200GS(A) and Super10.
I guess you could say the 1190r and AT are the most capable of all the above off road? So in that respect you could compare them? Maybe
