There is lovely looking one on superbike factory for just under 7000 the enduro model works out at 150 a month for 5 years

They are pretty bikes.
But they're expensive and limited in all-round ability.
You'd have to spend a lot of money to make them comfortable for long days in the saddle and they're quite highly strung and not as relaxing as something like a Tenere 660 on a long trip.
They're good compared to larger twin cylinder bikes when it comes to gnarly off road stuff, but they're no better than a lot of smaller, lighter, cheaper bikes when it comes to stitching together road-trail-road-trail routes.
If you like third gear off the throttle wheelies that engine is a hoot.
I am basing my opinions on the ownership of a KTM690r.....they can't be that different, can they?

I think the 701 is a move on from the 690 and part of my thoughts on preference would be weight. I suspect there is a vast difference between a 701 and the Yam but I would take that through to the 701 to be far easier to ride on the lanes but not as good on world tours.
In the end it’s working out which compromised bike suits you most.
With my lack of ability, I found the 690 too heavy for tricky trails (Welsh rocks and Wiltshire ruts) but good fun on easier stuff so I roadified it with dual sport tyres. The Husky 450 is soooo much lighter and easier to ride but I wouldn’t want to do 100 Miles road riding on it, even on dual sport tyres.

I went from Blackburn to Razgrad Bulgaria on my 690r
I did the same ride on my CCM GP 450.
The weather protection, seat comfort and ergonomics of the CCM are way, way better.
The CCM is lighter and very good when the tarmac ends.
The KTM (Husky) makes more power, but you can do longer in the saddle on the CCM.
