Sorry mate but are you serious? Think you will struggle to sell a bike on Ebay stating you only picked it up yesterday. I wouldn't touch a bike someone's just bought as I'd be wondering what's up with it. I'd definitely think something fishy was going on, even if the reason given is genuine. And like others have said, private sale on no legal comeback... That sale would have to be a lot more attractive to a buyer to spend that amount of money privately, especially as a few hundred quid more and they have piece of mind with legal rights.

Your wife obviously hasn't got any respect for you at all... Married or not, what right has she got to tell you what you spend your own money on? I'd tell her it's your money and you'll spend it on what you want. Mind you, if she's got that attitude it sounds like the Divorce would be VERY expensive!! No wonder I've never been married, I like doing what I want too much... :whistle:

Over £8000 for a little dirt bike? am I missing something? (I freely admit to knowing nothing about these bikes..)

There is no MOT requirement for a chain guard.

Why not ask CCM to sell on his behalf, if their order books are so full it should be an easy transaction?

Sleepy, as Bren points out, the CCM debate has raged for nearly 3 years, even now when they have been on the Market for 12 months or more, there is much debate on their merits and failings. TBH, they only way one can assess if the bike is worth the asking price to YOU, is to ride it. For me, it wasn't the bike I had hoped for, many disagree Now I will stay quiet... :whistle:

I think she is right to demand the bike to be sold , now walk upstairs empty her clothes into charity bag and feck them off . tell her she only need 2 pairs of shoes as well. if it was a crf250L he would not be in the shit !! but you live and learn...she must be a lovely lady and him a gentleman to put up with such shit. glad he married her not me. sell her car and see what she has to say ?

OK, I'll explain it to you as gently as I can. Ever since the early 1970s a company called CCM based in Bolton has been buying engines from other manufacturers (starting with BSA) modifying them and putting them in rather special chassis.

They cost a lot, because they are handbuilt to order in the UK.

Here's a clip of an early one (with a BSA engine) in action.



Observe its shattering acceleration and huge speed, note that once it's off the startline the rider only changes gear twice a lap. And understand that to buy a bike like that today would cost you rather a lot of money.

The bike being discussed here isn't a racer...but it's a handbuilt on-and-off-road travel bike. Any you could build your own using a new enduro bike as a base, but you'd find it would work out rather more expensive than buying a CCM.

As Mike pointed out a brief search of this site will yield loads of info and opinion on this bike: not all of it positive, but all of it interesting.

Ironically, looking at his ebay history, he did sell a CRF250L. H managed to do a few more miles on that one first though!
