How many bikes do you need?

I only really need one but I like having more so I buy and sell them whenever something else comes up that I think I'd like to own.

In the last 12 months I've sold 4 and bought 1 so there's a bit of space to be filled and I've got something lined up already. Not because I need the bike but I need the fun I get out of rebuilding older bikes (thumbs)

I always thought 3. One sports bike, one tourer and something a bit left field maybe a Harley or something.
However I'm now starting to think maybe more.

Now I want a sports bike to ride occasionally.
A super naked for blatting around on.
A touring bike.
A Harley
something to commute on.
A classic.

I've got some way to go as I only have 2 at the moment.....

But realistically nobody NEEDS more than one..

i disagree, most of my pastime revolves around bikes, 3 is the minimum for me, just sold the vrod so it would have been 4
i do see all sorts at track days but you wouldnt take a harley or tourer to a track day really thats not what they are ment for or going off road, horses for courses

Dont even 'need' one bike !.... Because motorcycles are just toys to me.
I do like to have two bikes though and would probably have more than two if i had a garage and not just a shed. Whenever i've owned just one bike, i start thinking about changing it for something else because the familiarity of it gets boring. So i always end up getting a second bike, one that's completely different to what i own already.
