Best bike two up ????

I do love my Xt660Z - probably one of the best 'all in one' bikes here. Like it when on and off the road but when I am solo.

I cannot see it with two up with full luggage but people do it.

It is high and even just me with the luggage it already seems to be top-heavy - cant see my wife on top of it !!

If you are anywhere near Harlow you can both come down and have a go on my fully loaded Super Tenere. It is a lot lower and easier to pick up (honestly) than the XT660Z and the GSA I had before it. see: S10 - easy to pick up.

We have recently finished a 40k mile trip on ours. BTW, I am 5'10" with very short stubby 29" legs.

I'm going to ride it later this week, so I'll post up a report, but all the reviews say that the Honda mass centralization design is so good you don't feel the weight unless you are pushing it. Once seated or moving it's agile, apparantly!

That old chesnut of "the weight falling off the bike when on the move" to justify it being a lardy bike that needs to go on a diet.

Centralised and lowered centre of gravity makes sense to me. Hold the end of a sledge hammer handle in one hand, and it's going to be easier on the wrist if you let the heavy end swing downwards.

I did, when the S10 first came out. It was in response too many BMW fanatics bemoaning the extra weight (about 2-3kg !!) of the S10.

The trouble with those "light" bikes is they break all the time.

Why do you think that is?

If its dry switch off the TC. Its rudimentary at best. I had a 3hr test ride on the CT DCT. Mostly using the auto modes. Never use them now. Just manual (trigger on r/h switchgear)give that a whirl and listen to the auto-blip changing down from high revs 3rd-2nd say. Also big throttle opening from just over tickover and it blats away through the airbox like a twin and drowns out my noisy pipe.

Narrow tyres and wide bars help fling it about. The less fuel in the 21.5L tank the more naughty it becomes. Careful now Col!

I'm surprised no one has mentioned any of the super scoots.I can't remember where I read it, but someone rode two up from Santander to Malaga in one hit in relative comfort,he said.Very popular in Italy also.I've never tried one myself,so can't comment.I have the r1200gs lc which is very good.
Take your time.You will find what you want,and enjoy the demo rides.
