The way you've worded that makes it sound sinister and ominous. Have people in the shadows contacted you?

Bike journos are, in the main, very accomplished riders and as such, like test pilots, tend to 'push the envelope'. Get any group of motorcyclists together for a ride and things often get a little excited.

Theories about ignition faults pushing the rider out of the seat etc and subsequent hushing up by BMW are all a bit far fetched.

I think the most likely scenario is a group of bike journos having a great time giving new bikes a fair bit of stick in a seemingly perfect environment just hit on some bad luck.

I don't see why we 'end the thread' ? It's a topic I'm interested in, maybe, just maybe, something might be learned from the truth or at least some of the details of the incident.

I'm not after gory details of Kevin's death, far from it, more the mechanical issues, if any.

Like a lot of threads on this forum, it seems if one or two people don't like it, it should be closed, you wouldn't stop people talking about a subject around a camp fire or in a pub, it's no different IMO.

Nothing will be learned because there is no new information to learn from. The truth is that noone will ever know what happened. Endless pages of speculation and half arsed conspiracy theories won't change that.

"Nearly a year after the crash that killed her bike journalist husband, Caroline Ash says she wants to see the findings of BMW's investigation."

Perhaps it is all half-arsed conspiracy theories ....... I don't know (thumbs) ...... but even the adopted position against 'half-arsed theorists' is as unproven as any other? Any opinion is an opinion and only that.

Easy way for BMW to answer the above - for his wife and children...... if the above quote is accepted as accurate. It may have already happened as the quote is from a couple of months ago.......... but (another half-arsed opinion) I doubt it as other factors will be operating in the background.

IIRC the word 'BMW' was not even mentioned in the MCN report of the crash, the week after Kevin's sad demise.

That wouldn't surprise me in the least. I am absolutely flabbergasted that ever since Alun first reported his presence on his forum, since the accident, he has said absolutely nothing about this. That in itself smells of something, to me.

Stuff the reputation of BMW - stuff the corporate silencing, stuff the heads will roll policy and stuff the survival of a magazine. Somebody lost their life here!

To ALL those who 'may' be involved in any alleged 'cover up' , because there certainly appears to be one , dig deep into that conscience and free yourselves from this circus of deceit.

When people who 'know' things keep their lips sealed it is inevitable that there will be speculation. When those same people remain tight lipped, in the hope it will all go away, that speculation will continue to grow.

Like many others, I too had read many reports and of the several separate recalls for the 1200WC, and despite being aware of the steering damper upgrade / addition , I hadn't actually seen this report before, regarding the actual suspension. Was the steering damper the 'fix' for this finding?

Post after post has been written on this subject , so where are you?

Why are you so reluctant to provide any input other than your brief words in the rag article shortly after the DEATH of a FELLOW JOURNALIST????
