My feet are getting too cold.

I seem to suffer from cold feet too, probabily poor circulation, but find heated insoles linked to a heated jacket liner on a low setting does the business.

The other way of looking at this is to keep the wind off your feet, I ride a Versys and have added some wind deflectors to the crash bars, made form black guttering ( am sure there must be loads of jokes there...?) A added bonus is that they also keep the water off your boots.

I bought mohair sock's. The guy who sold me them reconned they were endowed with near magical warmth. I was a bit sceptical at first, however when my Altberg all weather hogs failed in the monsoon conditions at Tagoda a few weeks ago I'm converted. I had soaking wet feet all day in about 3c and although my feet were quite cold they were never frozen and that was after 150 miles and about 6 hours on the bike. the next time out was about the same temp in the dry and my feet were lovely and comfortable. previously I have used merino wool socks but the mohair socks are equally as warm but quite a bit thinner

when I'm green laning in the winter i wear seal skin socks and ex mod gortex waterproof boot liners , and my feet keep warm and dry

The secret to warm feet is loose boots. Allows circulation and warm air to get trapped. Then a decent sock. Waterproof boots as well.

Tight boots restricts circulation and does not allow trapped air.

Oh and I live in Finland and I have been riding in -25 degrees Celsius and my feet were warm :woohoo:

My cure for cold feet is simple, no heated inner soles or socks made from whale foreskins or whatever it is that'll empty your wallet.

A pair of thin socks followed by a carrier bag on each foot (obviously) and then a second pair of thin socks, costs nothing and has always worked for me.

Give it a go before you waste any of your hard earned. (thumbs)

That will work down to -10 degrees Celsius, but you shouldn't need anything down to -10. But after that...do you know what happens to your feet if you have carrier bags around your feet?

When it's seriously cold and you are faced with an all-day ride (e.g. through Spain in winter in minus temperatures), no fancy socks will help, especially if you have poor circulation.

Some form of foot wind deflection can help (similar concept as handlebar muffs), but ultimately you need heated socks or heated insoles.
