I certainly don't need an unelected figurehead telling me what to do!

He was elected several times in various elections before reaching his current position, how many elections has Queenie stood in? I didn't and wouldn't vote for Junker but some did. How many would vote for the plant botherer Charles?

The Sarge wrote: I think not, Churchill himself said " it takes courage to stand up and speak, it takes more courage to sit down and listen" Cameron has done just that, he gave the Country the referendum and paid the price. How naive are people expecting him to stay and deliver the separation for Brexit , ludicrous utterly ludicrous?

Interesting analogy though because Churchill was also stabbed in the back in the General Election after just bringing the country through the war !
How is it ludicrous ?

About 24 hours before we were due to vote, he stood up on TV and clearly stated that he would comply with the outcome. Instead, 2 hours after the result, he bailed out and gave the job to someone else. Tosser - and I voted for him.
He was clearly happy to run with the tide when he thought it was going the way he wanted but when it turned he jumped ship. Instead of helping the electorate that voted him in through this turbulent period, as is his job, the coward just runs for the hills.

Churchill didn't do that.

I couldn't agree more Ralph.
On a similar matter:
There are Brits living abroad (outside Europe) who complained they didn't get to vote because they didn't get their voting paper in time. I understand they are upset about not being able to vote on a important matter but what I don't get is why they would have/want a vote ? I'd say they are not directly influenced (other than maybe the pension they receive but that's a risk they took when they left) so they'd have no right to vote on it.
It'll end in tears I tells ya.

How is he a coward, he gave the country what he promised, a coward wouldn't have. Why would /should he be expected to deliver something he did not believe in, would you ??? He could have stood down immediately and invoked article 50 and then watch the mayhem begin but he now has to go back to Brussells next week and face the other 27 EU members to begin the discussions that he never wanted to have !

Sorry, but nobody can call that democracy.

That's a deliberate and unethical exclusion from the process because the powers that be didn't want to upset the electorate by allowing Poles and Romanians to vote.
It was called "BREXIT" for a reason. It was a chance for the British electorate to vote. I call that democracy, otherwise we could have had a deluge of applications from abroad (i.e. the EU) that could have easily skewed the result. Like for example, those EU residents living here could have allowed their home addresses to be used as a voting base for registration.
You have to stop somewhere and the powers that be decided it would be British subjects (and Irish for some unknown reason) that would decide wether to let Britain remain part of the EU.

And Yes, it is marginal at 52/48 but that is what a referendum is all about, to seek the majority view of the nation, not to pick over what we think the result should have been. It is first past the post as all our elections are. That is OUR democracy.
