The Varadero is a lot of bike for the money, it will never let you down and they've been heard of covering over 100k miles with no issues.

I can put my feet flat on the ground sitting a 2011 Tiger 800XC with the seat at highest point :P
Is that tall enough?

DAMN! You're a giant! LOL! Never mind, lots of people are taller than me! Glad you took my comments in the vein they were intended. ;)
Hope to meet you in person some time.

You would have to try both bikes and see what you prefer, some dislike the buzzy motor of the Tiger and love the soul of the twin. As many have said, the Honda has a great following and will almost surely never let you down. But the Tiger took me all round Europe last summer, never missed a beat. I honestly love both bikes, (and of course my RD04 Africa Twin! LOL!)

:) Fine bikes!

We don't have "snow" down here, so been able to ride mine all the way through. I did find it a bit chilly on day trips to Glasgow though!

Good to see you have the Varadero out again AfricaJim
Great colour and lovely bike

The 98 Varadero is out and about in Bristol at the moment racking up the miles while the 07 Varadero has decided to dribble at the front forks.

So out comes the trusty Africa Twin

When I was out yesterday I noticed the marks of ACF50 on the forklegs when I braked, so the forks were promptly cleaned as I know from experience this leads to grit sticking to the ACF50 and tearing fork seals to pieces!
Fortunately the Mighty Varadero seems to be fine!
The Africa Twin requires much work and parts before it will see the road, in fact, a V5 document would be an advantage! I'm still waiting for the police to conclude their investigation into my old RD04! Still currently impounded! LOL!

Awesome looking bike in the best colour. What sort of speed were you doing for that MPG? Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for it and what mileage it's done?
