I've been a member since 2002..and I don't even have a BMW or never had....as you say some good info and I post there too with same.

What sort of courses are they? Riding courses? Mountain courses? Refresher courses?

Like it or loathe it ,ukgser is THE site for all things related to the GS range,
Maybe some of the folk have opinions that don't suit your mindset,some are just rude if you haven't met them in the flesh.
I've met most of the prolific posters over a few years,and gained mates I'll stay mates with for life.
It's just a forum,there is a lot of bollix spoken,
All that aside,if you need help with a problem there is a wealth of info freely given that will stretch back to 80's airheads up to wc boxers,.
If you don't want to engage in the pub section ,,, don't
The tech/ bike sections are brill,
Anything from modern ktm to a mk1 guzzi leman,or some Brit iron,
As I said I've met a hell of a lot of these fellas,none of us are youngsters ,you would be amazed at some of the acts of kindness I have seen simply from from a random post on the forum.
A traveller having a bike knicked,new bike purchased!
A young lad I know, bike stolen new bike purchased!
I could go on,,
