Actually years ago - I mean 35 years ago! - someone we knew did more or less the same thing to her husband's Montesa, genuinely hoping that he's cop it over a cliff down the road from their finca up in the mountains. Then a few days later in a drunken row she took off on the first bike that came to hand ...

if you look at the stats, by a long chalk its the smaller cheaper capacity bikes that get stolen because the security matches the value of the bike so its easier to nick. higher value bikes are nicked generally to order for their parts and less frequent.

just to add, last wed night we had are community watch meeting, the cops failed to turn up, everyone wanted to talk about parking and the very nice honda hornet parked 30 meters from the church hall got nicked and a house broken into for the keys i kid you not.

go onto the cheadle facebook page and read all about it, yer carnt make this stuff up
