I was there a couple of years ago. I wouldn't bother with Nordcapp other than bragging rights. Lofoten Islands are much more interesting and it still gets you north of the Arctic circle for some bragging rights

The comment about one long ride through a forest on an A road perfectly describes my experience of Sweden. Very very boring for hundreds of miles. Norway couldn't be more different, like the Scottish highlands for day after day.

It is very expensive so like others I camped and sorted my food from supermarkets. I don't drink much so I didn't miss it, if alcohol is important for you then either take your own or don't go because its ludicrously expensive and limited in supply. Out of 22 days I camped for all but 2 which were in the little chalets simply to dry off - it will rain on you. Camping can be a bit basic by the standards of Spain/France etc, but always friendly.

I went late June early July. The weather was a bit like late spring here - not too warm at night, ok during the day with occasional half days of torrential rain. In between, the sun came out and it was nice but not exactly shorts and T shirt. On the bike I think I used my heated grips twice high up in the mountain areas and through Telemark which was very bleak.

They're brilliant. Just wear it over a lightweight top with an unlined jacket and you can regulate your temperature all day without having to remove layers. I used mine for just over 800 miles last weekend with the temperatures varying between 2c and 17c and everyone else was stopping to remove layers or complaining of being too hot when the temperatures rose.

I'd certainly buy one for a trip up through Norway when the temperatures will vary a lot from early morning until late afternoon.

i live in norway (near bergen) and still not been! i treid last year, but didnt make it that far, it rained for 2 weeks solid! also still not seen a moose, im starting to think they are a mythical beast used to lure tourists here!

anyone deciding to come this way give me a shout, ive got a garage and a spare bed/couch and a good stock of tea! (you can take the man out of england, but you cant take his bloody cup of tea away!)
i highly advise sticking to the coastal roads and staying off the E6 as its far more pretty to ride along the coast, windy, but nice, here where i live we have trolltunga and preikestolen not too far, so if anyone wants to visit them give me a shout, you can dump all your stuff at mine and take a day trip over there..... (i cant because of knee and back problems!)
also be sure to try brunost (brown cheese!) you cant come here and not try it!

I rode to Nordkapp at beginning of June 2015. On the way up I travelled up the eastern
coast of Sweden and into Finland to visit Rovaniemi. From there I crossed into Norway near
Kautokeino, and then onto Alta and Nordkapp. Plan was to get to Nordkapp fairly quickly
and then cruise down through Norway at a more leisurely pace. Weather in Sweden and Finland
was great, but heavy rain and wind for most of the time I was in Norway. I was told that
I had gone there a bit too early for any hope of decent weather. I camped the majority of
the time on the 16 day trip. I had one hotel night and also one night in a hytte.
I carried most of my own food, supplementing it along the way with stuff from small
stores or supermarkets. I developed a taste for those bacon wrapped hotdogs they served
up in the Norwegian petrol stations. Nordkapp itself as others have pointed out is a bit
uninspiring, but I'm glad I went nonetheless. On the way south from Nordkapp I rode
down through the Lofoten Islands (a must see) and then took the Moskenes ferry to Bodo
on the mainland. Heading south I stopped off at the Norwegian Arctic Circle Centre and
then onto Trondheim and the Atlantic Road (with the curvy bridges).
It was a great trip, I only wish I had been a bit luckier with the weather. I met some
German riders on the Lofoten Islands who were heading north. By the time they had
reached Nordkapp the sun had come out apparently.

Nice to see the Africa Twin doing some serious long haul. Any problems on the trip? I'm eager to do this trip myself.

Now that's a tip and a half.

Zero problems with the AT, Had one puncture which I managed to fix roadside. Just been
to Morocco on same bike beginning of April. Again no issues whatsoever, didn't even have to topup the oil en route.
