I agree with all those points. Still, if everything gels on a shortish trip, it could lead to longer/further trips I guess. As someone commented earlier, this really needs it's own section because, as a thread, it will get lost and buried when there have been no posts for a while. Not sure how to make it a "sticky" (is that the term?). Anyone...??
