+1 for the Buffallo.
I have a Special 6 Shirt.
It is phenomenal. Its furry fleecey lined with a pertext outer layer - and it is not a jacket - it's a shirt. As the blurb says, its designed to be worn next to the skin - although - I often ride with a base layer under it. This - with my BMW Rallye 3 Jacket on top - are just the greatest combination I've ever ridden in.
They aren't cheap the Buffalo's - but you get your moneys worth. Go look at one before you buy anything else.

I've been using a North Face softshell gilet as a mid layer as I've been riding my unfaired CRF and feeling the wind chill a bit - getting nesh in my old age. The lack of arms keeps the sleeve bulk down and for me it's about keeping the core bits warm.

An alternative for me would be a winter cycling windproof top from Aldi - much cheaper although you do have to pounce on their offers when they're available especially for the <cough> larger sizes :whistle:
