The temptation to plan a very long, non motor-way, route to take my little 125 down and show that Chinese bikes aren't all made of cheese......it would take a LOOOOONG time though

Is it worth coming down from oop tut north ?
Pretty much a Carpark (and usually surrounding roads and footpaths) full of bikes. There's usually a few exhibitors and authors doing book signings. There'll be a mix of the ordinary and some wild and wonderful bikes.

I am about an hour away so will toddle up, not sure I'd travel the length of the country to attend though but if you're looking for an excuse to get out on your bike, it's better than some I've used to myself.

Im from.down south so 1 hrs ride been a few times...never again..

Its basically a cafe with folks riding in for a yak and food..kicking tyres swapping tales ..when it was in febuary it was good as it was damn cold ..

If your heading down to do other things fine but a one off trip..na spend the time and money local to you..its all over by 1pm anyway..

I'll be there again albeit I live not far,

BUT as an "Adventure" themed organised day for what I suppose are "Adventure riders",

SO what if its a bit of a ride thats what the bike is for,
SO what if the weather is not Bermuda thats what all those expensive suits and heated clothing are for,
SO what if its a car park full of bikes that what we like,
SO what if its standing around chatting and kicking tires that what we do........

SO come on, the more the merrier.
See you there : )

Back in 2013 (sure you could do a search on here)
When i went I was a bit disappointed, the usual bods there Sam Manicom, Austin Vince, (selling there books /dvd's), Martin Cashmore, plus an array of bike manif trying to get you to part with ££££ & buy there bike or there adventure kit or panniers.

TBH I cam home with more free leaflets than a rain forest, but also met a few off here, chatted ect. O an a raffle was held for mopeds in Africa.

At the end of the day it is a cafe in the biz of relieving you of your ££££ & a clever way of doing it.

Not sure if Im going to come tbh as need to check my shift pattern, I took my Mrs a few months back once she passed her test, she enjoyed the experience to say she rode her own bike at the Ace, & in London (got her the T shirt too)

Don't mean to be cynical if you have a buckshee day why not worth the ride - depending how far you have to travel, if it was a toss up Ace or HUBB HUBB would win.

I'll be there, the Ace is just up the road from me...well, 35 miles or so. I go reasonably regularly B) . Some of the themed nights/days are good even if you have no interest in the topic...such as there 'Smart' car day last year which had all sorts of Brabus tuned Smart cars on show B) .

Thanks for all the views.

I think I'll take Tramps advice and give it a miss, especially as it's just an A.M thing. Main problem is that it's not really a great ride from where I live - whichever way you go and I've done them all over the years.

The same distance would get me to the Lake District via the Yorkshire Dales ;)

Enjoy the day (thumbs)

We'll be there as usual, just to give people something else to look at apart from the BMWs.
I'm only going to go if I can have a spin on your Derbi Alex!

I'll be on my Djebel 250
Of course you can Celia, any time.
