Hi Steve,

I've just remembered that the Friday (September 11th) is 'La Diada', that is Catalonia's national holiday, so the vet would be closed. But I'm sure - and can find out next week - that she'll be open on the Saturday morning - I think there's quite a strict tie limit before you have to cross back to Blighty? - otherwise one of the HISS Vets has a farm near Villeneuve-sur-Lot so I can ask him if his vet could sort you out on your way home.

Hi Simon

Can you include Mark (Stubbs), Si (Trustrider) and myself on the list for Catalonia again please (thumbs)

We were hoping to make Aragon but can't all get the time off together so the Pyrenees it is, we hardly scratched the routes this year anyway so there's unfinished business there.

Looking at all the pictures posted from September I think we'll be doing a lot more hooking up with others this time round (if welcome ;) ) as we would have liked to have found some of those routes ourselves - we seemed to find the tightest gnarliest routes every day making me wish for my 200 rather than the 650 I brought down

Hi Mate,

I don't really understand this - we are fourteen hours ride form the central channel port like Dieppe or Caen and perhaps a couple more from Calais or Cherbourge, etc.

Santander or Bilbao are about nine or ten - doable in a day of you want tho' I'd prefer to take my time and get more out of the trip that way.

Hi Mike,

Done now I'm back on the Mac, they're on the list - it'll be great to see you all again :)

We'll have plenty of 'X' bikes coming so maybe we cpud chip in together and have a spare fan motor* in stock this time

Yup, it is great to keep swapping groups to ride out, that's one special feature of the HISS and as we have quite a few 'veterans' on board there's less navigating , getting lost, etc. and more riding (thumbs)

* mind you, that's not then end of the world, for those who weren't there - I fixed Mike's group up with trails that went downhill from their starts on the black-stuff, so the fan wasn't necessary

Hi Russ,

You can do a much better ride on from us over the Sierra de Boumort - one that you didn't know about at the last HISS you came to - which brings you out at Organya, so you don't have to ride the horrible C14 from Coll de Nargo where the RB5 stops for fuel - as long as some of us go with you with some spare fuel on board as you won't find any more until you get to Saldes.

So, that means buying beers for either me and Ard with our X-Tanks or the Ténéré, etc. mob (thumbs)

Cheers Simon, there's a new fan on the XChallenge now so no more boiling over up a mountain  The three of us rarely get the chance to ride together so I think we made the most of it while we could, mixed well in the evenings though. Got on great with Jordi too, maybe we're kindred spirits

Next year we'll be trying to gate crash everyone's groups B)
