We are issued with LED Lenser T7 at work now.
Easily the best torch I have ever used.
I can't even begin to explain how bright this thing is.
Adjustable focus too makes it durable for all situations.

£49 for a 200 lumen torch!! If you think that's bright then you should try one of the torches that I've recommended..........you'll be wanting a welding mask to protect your eyes ;-)

I've got both LED Lenser L5 (1 x AAA) and L7(3 x AAA) (they were on offer a year or so ago as a twin pack, effectively two for the price of one) although mine were a present from the Missus so cost wasn't a factor.

Also got a 9 LED (3 x AAA) cheapie from ASDA, only £2.00! Surprisingly good performance

And I keep a Petzl Zipka head Torch on the bike, takes up no space and really good perormance despite being several years old (so first generation LEDs) this is the up to date version, the Zipka Plus 2

It depends what you want to use it for. It's no use having a torch which is so bright it just whites out the area if you want to use it to look for the keys you just dropped and also its pointless not having enough lumens to do the job you want.

A good all rounder is the Surefire P60. I use one as an everyday carry with a P61 head in it. It use CR123A lithium batteries which is different to what you want but I will highly recomend it anyway. Also, while they are expensive you really do get what you pay for and you won't be looking to replace a Surefire in the future.

Failing that, have a look at Fenix torches, I use a TA20. These have four different outputs depending on how many lumens you fancy at the time. Once again, you will need CR123A batteries though.

It may be helpful to let us know what you want to use the torch for.

Have a look at www.heinnie.com and try not to get your credit card out!!

Bootie,

Have you got a Costco near you and are you a member or even know a member?

They are doing a pack of three aluminium LED Tactical torches for about £15. Absolute crackers. Much the same as those slung under a barrel.

Fantastic light, compact and energy efficient.
