Heres one for you, head up from doon west, pass up through crianlarich, up by Kilin, stop off at Pitlochry for some camp refreshments

and stay on Loch Tummel, theres an absolutely cracking site on the bank, and I mean on the bank. Its pretty small but you wont find better. Its called Ardgualich Farm, review -
http://www.scottishcampingguide.com/link.php?n=674&c= then you can head up to Applecross from there, you'll see more than just the west coast, a bit of variety and some stunning roads and passes.

Good timing post, just come back from our 4 day highland fling of good old Scotty, today Tue 17th July. I'll post the trip pictures seperately.
Glen Etive 5.1 miles from the junction, 2m down hill from the stream running under the road ...
Friday night was a wee bit busier than our return trip on Mon night, but no mad 'rse's - every one passing waved. Loads camping up and down the valley.

Heres a suggestion, Ive just watched the weather forecast. The jet stream which has been sitting lower down the UK bringing all the wet weather is due to shift the end of this week and next to the NW of Scotland, take your water proofs!!

Rtm4676 - my neighbour told me the same thing earlier this evening... here's hoping that the jetstream moves faster then expected - and the bad weather passes quickly by - and the Friday afternoon and weekend Sun shines on the righteous! Unfortunately - it never has...

I'd recommend that 2 - that was sat 14th. I'll post a piccy 2moro. From the applecross pub look right to the head of the loch yur bound 2 see tents. Sign says camping discouraged but we rekoned that was the official campsite above the pub just miffed they cudnt offer the same views 4 free. Applecross hairpins - first time in uk i've thought this cud b the alps, pyrenees or norway. Enjoy.
