Yeh it’s a decent one: a terra nova starlite 2. It’s super light but the main thing is the poles have shorter segments meaning the pack length is only 29cm, so it can fit in any of my panniers.ErikGustav2 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 06, 2025 6:58 pm Yes,
some times you need real stuff.
And knowledge how to use.
Your tent looks good.
What is it ?

Before my South American tour, I upgraded to a tent made for hard and different condition.
Well used money

Fantastic.
My package is 53 cm. And the pannier is 49 cm.
So it has to go in a dry bag on top of the pannier.
That is not what you want.

I do have a smaller tent (low quality). That I can use for a 1-2 night trip.
When I know that the weather is going to be good.
That fits easy.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I do love a tent.
I worked for a year as a repair specialist for Alpkit and got to do plenty of tent repairs. I found a tent that had an air tube for the structure but the tube was quite heavy and so remade it with a lightweight pole and then took it down camping through the Pyrenees, it still works well now and it’s quite a good feeling sleeping in a tent you’ve made.
They called it the Aeronaut, I called it the AirONot

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
It’s slightly changed in direction now… I’m heading across to Czech then down to Bratislava and then up to the Tatra mountains in Slovakia, across to Poland and Auschwitz then back through the north of Czech and Germany to home, only 16 days rather than the longer Romanian one.
I fancied a slightly lower mileage trip with a few more days off to walk and sightsee.
Should be good though

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
I wanted another 2-stroke Chris but everything I looked at needed work or had been messed about with but then I saw this.
It's a 1997 Vespa PX200E and it's fairly original, It's soooooo much better than the 150 Super I had before and will compliment my GTS300 perfectly.
The difference is size compared to the modern Vespa's is amazing when you see them side by side.

Love those little square indicators on the legshields.
I met a bunch of guys coming back on the ferry from Spain on a mix of classic and new scooters and just thought how much fun it looked
Enjoy!
