Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Yes, the inescapable truth is it's not a quick bike
Top speed today on the ring road was 53mph (GPS), I cant convert the speedo to MPH so I'm stuck on KM/H but Waze tells me the speedo is pretty close (52 km/h = 30mph GPS). Comfortable cruising speed I suspect is around 45mph, depending on the incline.
Suspension is amazing, ideal for UK roads and I find the seating position quite comfortable.
I'm going to enjoy living life in the slow lane

Small "adventure" bikes in Portugal
The number of models in the 125 cc segment is growing.
Many interesting choices.
SWM ATX looks like a great tourer
And the UM DSR as a great dirt bike.
And this shows only one segment of the market.
What they call "Adventure bikes". What is that ??
No scooters (PCX is the queen) and many more pure "street bikes"
The prices are rather high.
You don't have to add much to get for example a Voge 300 Rally. (4 500 euro)

There’s a good selection there.
I do like the ATX 125, over here it’s from MGB

You never have to add much to get a little bit more. I was looking at reviews of the Rieju Aventura 125 few days ago. Seems awesome "adventure" bike. But for just a little bit more the Aventura 307 is coming.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Just before Christmas I made a bit of a change to my bikes. I think partially it was from my last trip where I was racing back from Paris along the motorways to try to get back to see my Dad who was dying.
I really missed having a little more power so decided to have a look to see what else was out there.
I came to the conclusion that I wanted the weather protection and scooter practicality but with more power so bought myself a 2024 Forza 350. I’m just up to my 600 mile service now and it’s been really good.
Easy riding I can get 90mpg, there’s 40 litres of space under the seat, and the cvt transmission is very smooth. I did a couple of 100 mile trips and it felt as comfortable as the PCX so I’ve planned a trip in May to ride down to Romania and Bulgaria.
The PCX then became a little obsolete so I advertised it and within 1/2 a day it had sold.
I’ve still got the Innova so I can strap a tent on the back and do some trails if I fancy but the 350 will now be my long distance weapon of choice.
Goodbye PCX, gone but not forgotten

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Good luck with the new bike.
And I wish you many wonderful trips.
The scooters in the segment are getting popular,
My friend bough himself a Voge 350 cc scooter.
That he is very happy with.
Including the easy to get on and of the bike, for an old men with stiff legs.
He also likes the very good protection from the screen.

My Honda that is more than 20 years old is a good compromise for me for day tours.
150 kg ready to ride-
I wish I could ride it.
It just collects dust.
