Some Aussies also like to ride small.

That looks almost identical in the set up for when I did my first trip to the Alps on the Innova… right down to the same panniers

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Not only that bro'. Your also getting more hours to the gallon, probably 4hrs worth of riding !
In contrast, the bike I ride most regularly gives me around 40 minutes to the gallon. Although both options give copious buckets of pleasure I guess.![Cool 8-)](./images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)

Would the Voge 300 Rally fall into this category thread I wonder…..?
An awful lot of motorcycle for a snip under 4k new.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
It’s funny how a 300cc bike now feels like a tiddler.
BMW have just brought out the 1300GS, I’m certainly not dissing the bike but as they get bigger it makes anything under 500cc seem little.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Every now and then I think about getting same bike as you have. I just might buy one to get to next year's ABR festival.
Last year I had SH150i. It had smaller tank and the frame felt a bit flimsy. Apart from that it was an awesome bike. One of the best I've ever owned.

Re: Go Big and Ride Small
The PCX is a great bike and very comfortable for long journeys but it does have its limitations. The top speed is 65mph and that’s pushing it, it’s much better at 58, so worth bearing that in mind.Magnusson wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 5:58 pmEvery now and then I think about getting same bike as you have. Re: Go Big and Ride Small
Yes,
comfortable cruising speed is more interesting than top speed.
When riding RE Himalayan long distance i kept the speed around 50-55 mph.
The plus is not in the max speed. But in the low end torque and....
The legend Ted Simon said that 50 mph is often a good speed to travel.
Compromise between having time to enjoy the surrounding and covering some distance.
We made a day tour in the Algarve mountains two days ago.
Average speed was 58 km/h. 36 mph for you.
No need for fast bikes. The speed for the big Triumph was limited by the foot pegs , on these twisty roads.
Not buy the horse powers. The RE and Benellin 25 hp were enough.
