Man after my own heart........I still find Google maps the easiest for route planning.

I do have all the other electronic gizmo's but quite frankly I'm still a bit shy of them.
However my intention is to master them this year so I can lead a few TRF ride outs rather than play the lazy follower.

So a Google route will be fine for me Mark then I can try to transpose it to my Garmin for my own benefit on the learning curve to "Master Navigator"

Don't worry I'll still have the paper version on the tank bag.

If anybody is in the same boat as me with all this wizardry perhaps we can exchange notes on route.

Some of the guys I ride the lanes with have 3 devices on there handlebars & a small flip chart.
Puts me to shame--so things have got to progress this year--time to get proficient with it & moove onward & upward to "Ride Leader"

Don't think my route to the ferry will suit you.
I plan to go clockwise round the M25 from Hemel Hempstead over the Dartford bridge then left onto the A2 all the way to Dover. Brian.

As someone who commutes 250-300 miles a day it'll be nice not to ride on motorways etc.

As a few of us have BMW's, I'm sure there will be at least one support truck.

I'll be doing some filming/recording with the GoPro

If you are planning on having a shufty round the area then maybe you could have quick visit to Steenbergen, it's not too far from Eindoven and that is where Guy Gibson VC is buried, he crashed there and died returning from a sortie, aged 26.

However if you getting off at Calais the route via Brussels will be the better option, bit quicker, bit more scenery, bit less trafic.

Hi Brian,

Just had the map out for places etc and put it into Base Camp.

If you come go to the east of Eindhoven you will see the N279 and then the N277/ N271 to Nijmegen we could then follow this road to Arnhem.

From Arnhem follow the N336 to Emmerich Am Rhein, Rees, Wesel, Dinslalen, Bottrop and Essen. After Essen the 483 to Huckswagen has lots of green sides to it on the Michelin map, so that has got to be done.

The only bit I'm not sure about is going through Essen, but if we go south we get trumped by Dusseldorf and if we go north we get flak from Dortmund. And both these option mean we lose the 483 So, you pays your money and takes the choice....
