Angus and I are meeting up in France on the 14th, then hot footing to Chez Keith for the 15th.

Just a thought, for those putting on new rubber, chains and bearings. If you haven't put them on yourself before why not try it yourself at home. Easier to do it all at home for the first time than in the blazing heat during a sand storm or during a typical biblical rainstorm in Spain.

Any questions regarding bike prep or spannering give us a shout and you will get a reasonable steer. I will be at the ABR festival on the weekend of the 12th so happy to discuss there.

Regarding sleeping bags, it can get nippy in the the plateau at night. I use a 3/4 season bag and if its hot, just use it as a blanket. Did get cold last trip but we are going a couple of weeks earlier this year. It also rained a lot towards the end of the trip so waterproofs are an advantage, Keith even broke out the onesie.

As far as I can tell they've only moved the time of the outbound sailing (now 16:30 with a 15:00 arrival)

Thanks for the update. :D

I'll plan a different route to reflect on this delay as it has a knock on effect on the port of departure and timings from Europe.

Liking day 1, love Salamanca and much easier with the later docking time. Really starting to look forward to this, the gs has it's TKC 80s on and felt good round the ABR festival course (at 25mph of course) pivot pegs are amazing, never had them before but wow, Mactavish- if you don't want the panniers let me know. The countdown is definitely on 😁
