I'm a fan of the Nikwax as well, i gave the jacket a going over a while back:

Ditto what Domsday said about the baby shampoo and warm water to clean out the inside of your lid......i did it a long time ago before i could afford an Arai :whistle:

Believe it or not I use Pro-Clean, as in the bike cleaner! Just a small capful in the washing machine does the job

I Used nixiwax cleaner & re proofer together in the wash machine, millets do it as do most other out door camping shops.

I use Heine Gerike Helemt sanitiser to clean inside, or just take the guts out soapy water let dry on its own

Another vote for Nickwax and a recommendation to never put your kit away wet. I dry mine out in the kitchen or on our veranda.

Hello mate

Perhaps a different point of view, most guys I know who greenlane a lot dont wear the usual bike jackets and trousers as they make you sweat far to much as you have found out.

Maybe try layering ie base layer then armour I wear mx trousers and shirt next then your waterproof /windproof layer on top
such as army gore-tex which is thinner and easy to move in plus its easy to keep clean.

Its perhaps a bit of an outlay if you dont have seperate armour(£100 will do your body and knees) plus the gore-tex army bits(£50/60 for jacket and trousers) mx gear whatever you can get it for

THE BIG BUT IS you wont ruin your nice and probably far more expencive road gear and you will be far more comfortable
