Have you considered hiring a trailer? You are welcome to leave a car and trailer at my place I am in East Devon and the Great Western trail passes within a couple of miles either side of our place.
Not sure when tourism will start up again in the south west there is concern down here that when it does a second wave of Covid 19 might follow

Dibbs.... Salisbury plain and wilts are bine dry and rock hard with high vegetation like mid summer with all the sun we have had...

I'm not saying its possible on a tank but I'd not even a enduro would be hard work... Wait till autumn when undergrowth dies down...

France in July would be a better bet....

Wow thanks for all the replies chaps some good and interesting info there. I won’t be going alone as I don’t really like my own company that much really!!!!

There are a few tricky bits but it's not impossible.

We did it in 'orrible wet weather, days before lockdown, 2 ×ATs, a Tiger 800, 990/1290 KTMs and a T700 Yam. Much of it is fine, some requires teamwork on a big bike.
I personally would not go solo on a big bike,. as I would inevitably end up pinned underneath the bloody thing in a holly hedge/cowpat/barbed wire fence/ all of the above. Your skills and optimism may vary, but some of those lanes are remote.

Hi we did all the western trail last year on husqvarna 501 with camping kit and it was the perfect bike for the job we did bump into a couple of big bikes on route they were getting around ok but had struggled at a few points on the trail in summary if your avery capable off road rider and your traveling in pairs give it ago but be prepared for very overgrown trails with hidden ruts which will often have you off in the hedge and a few rocky climbs and descents my advise would be to use your 450 much more fun put a large front sprocket on for the road work there and back small sprocket for the trails hope this helps
