The sun soon fell and we was in darkness once again, we actualy reached our reserved Hotel at 9.50 pm French time The Hotel Tivoli at Bagnes De Bigorre.

Only to be turned away as they said there was no room, and we had not called to say we was going to be late. (I guess they gave up on us and let the room's earlier) so a Tip is If your running late It would do no harm to call early afternon to state that you will be there but Late :)

The local restaurant was closing so no food, and a young German girl from a closing store said follow me and we scurried behind her and listened very carefully, she knocked on a small hotel doors for us they came to the door but to no avail they was fully booked... Jim called his wife in England who searched the internet for choice. We headed for the nearest big town, Tarbes and tried four or five and the last one A F1 at around one ish said yes.

that was Day 4. concluded what a Day :woohoo: :woohoo:

I will add some more pics when Dean has finished, it would be nice to keep it on one thread for future reference. :)

I would like to say, for me it was the best trip so far. Great riding buddys, meeting up with great people and the setting for all this was the fantastic Pyrenees. Gotta start saving again to continue the adventure... :)

Day 6: Tuesday 30.08.2011

From Tours back to home was 401 Miles

This time we stopped at the large industrial city of Rouen the Train yard like a Giant Hornby train set drew my attention.

And a modern double decker glides through.

Back on the Road the next interesting stop was.... The Baie de Somme motorway service station. Between A16 Paris-Amiens-Calais motorway exits 23 and 24

(if you get a chance to stop here B )

This has got to be the most eco friendly service station that I have ever seen

on one side truck stops and Fuel and general parking bordered by a restaurant, a wild life nature store selling paintings, T shirts & all, and Rest rooms and the other this:

Image

Image

And you can walk up the ramp in the tower to see this from the viewing platform at the top:

and the residents, when not sleeping.

Image

Plenty of bread fed to keep them happy along with the large Carp that came for the bread.

Image

Image

And inside the Jambon, Chips and Gravy was very nice, (salad dodgers note the yohgurt and coke light)

Image

Then back to the Calais Train to Folkestone.

Image

That concludes the Trip it was Amazing, it was :woohoo: :woohoo: we had not been to the Pyrenees! We have now!

Thanks again for all the input in threads by ABR members, spanish Biker, Brit Frog B) and to My fellow travellers Dave, Peter and Jim they were a pleasure to ride with.
it was emotional  I'm sure I will be back, Maybe a Pyrenees Rally  see you all there :woohoo:

Dean

and Jim :) M O R O C C O   :woohoo:
