Gave up reading MCN many years ago, seemed to be the same old same old rehashed time and time again.

As already hinted at, completely obsessed with sports bikes, who on earth do they employ over 20 years old with adventure/touring experience?

Last time I read it, it seemed to be written by kids, for kids...:S

This is great for the Adventure market, to have it accessible for the mainstream market, but I’d rather see motorcycle papers such as this, alone with BIKE and Two Wheels Only et al pay more, fuller attention, to the on-coming burdens that consider motorcycling in general.

Meaning, the new, alleged, Euro Legislations’ coming into the biking world, here in Europe, because, believe it or not, talk to the average motorcyclist they still have not heard of MAG UK, for example, and even if they have, there is still an train of thought of that’s politics and I don’t do/know politics.

Maybe a retraining programme via the mainstream press will be better for the biking world, before non of us will be allowed to enjoy the freedoms the motorcycling world offers us…

Good points there. As long as motorcycling is seen as a leisure persuit (and it IS for probably the majority of UK riders, if not transient learners on scooters prior to car-life), it will remain an increasingly expensive 'hobby' that participants will ditch as soon as it loses it's fun.

Let's hope the recent rail fare rises push more voters onto bikes!

Somehow I think we should cut MCN and the other publications some slack, we all moan all they publish power ranger fodder and when they do start printing adventure bike material they get knocked for it. Personally I love ABR and thinks its the best bike mag out there but that dosn't stop me enjoying other mags if they do print adventure articles, even if they arn't up to the same standard as ABR.
