suttons Bromsgrove only 8 mile from me probably wont go for it but would like to try one

I went from a very tricked up 990R to an Africa Twin, and with a few mods I've got say I am afraid the Honda is a better bike in almost every department. The KTM is a bit quicker, but not by much, has a bit more torque and is a bit more involving when you are in the mood but other than that it's the Honda every time for me. Just my 2 pence worth and I am a total KTM fan boy and still have 2 of them.

It's funny how we can ride the same bikes but come away with different thoughts. I've owned four of the original Africa Twins, a RD03, 2xRD04's and a RD07 so I was very excited to ride the new bike, especially the DCT version. But although it did everything very well and very smoothly I found it boring, nowhere near as involving a ride as my 950 Adventure.
Go and have a test ride Gaz, I'll be very interested to hear your thoughts.

I did think that and it is a bit Honda but once you stick a pipe on it and get it remapped it's a nice old engine, it is much smoother than the KTM and maybe doesn't have the character ( though I think sometimes "character" is a word used to describe a multitude of sins!). However, my Honda gets used most days for work as well as adventure riding ( whatever that is) and some reasonably serious off roading and as an all rounder I just think it's better overall, I certainly know that when I get off after 250 miles on the AT I feel a lot less tired than I would doing the same journey on the KTM. I would say that the Honda lacks that totally unbreakable feel of my KTM, don't know why and having jumped off it a few times it's stood up remarkably but it's a feeling you get.

well that's opend a can of worms firstly this is my opinion its all down to personal choice I bloody loved it ok so the one I road only had 40 miles on it it sounded ace loads of low down grunt plenty of go I didn't cane it its some one elses loved the feel of it suspention was as it was not quite as plush as 990 but with a bit of fettling reckon it would be good for me .
it felt better for me stood up than the 990 more room , tried a few very dry lanes dodging puddles as I remembered what the salesmen said about know need to show me how to turn of abs because that's only for off road ,, negatives no power socket no centre stand long service intervels easy to get at so whats a 2012 ktm 990 adventure with 12 months mot and 24100 miles some cosmetic damage butin general good nick worth
