Best alternative to fresh milk?

I decided a while back it was too much of a faff & just cultivated a taste for black coffee.

I don't drink instant though. Plan b blag a handful of the milk sachets from McDonalds or some such, they store well (thumbs)

5 weeks and a day ( and I'm not counting either!) - off to land of open roads again.
Never had a problem buying fresh milk in Norway, semi skimmed, and you can add it to powdered tomato soup to improve it. Did try some coffee mate but rather not take and have black coffee.

I have always just taken Nescafe 3 in 1 or 2 in 1 if you don,t take sugar. They are easy to carry and taste fine. It cuts down on the amount you need to carry.

I use these all the time. As simple as it gets and good tasting too.

Have also used the McD's milk sachets - gather a supply up a couple of weeks before you go & store them in a small sealable plastic container.

On my camping trip to Scandinavia last summer, I took two tubes of Nestle condensed milk, which comes ready sweetened. Worked for me, light and compact. Just the ticket.

Every time here too (thumbs)

Grew up loving the stuff, as a child, we used to butter sliced white bread and use sweetened condensed milk as the filling!! Yummy!! :laugh:

Milk doesn't add flavour to coffee really IMO it's really only a cooling agent. A bit like tea.
Do a test. Make your tea and or coffee in one of those travel mugs with a lid. Drink it out of those for a couple of days/week and you'll get used to it. Plus not taking the milk substitute will leave room for more beer (thumbs)

I'm a tea drinker. Milk is a very integral part of the tea process as discussed by a few of us over breakfast this morning. Tea for its best needs 'proper' fresh full fat milk and anywhere I go I will suss it out in no time. As for half fat milk in tea, it's like beer diluted with 50% water.

My mate drinks coffee and goes to great trouble also to get proper milk on his trips. Like me, he brings his coffee and I bring my tea.

As for milk substitute........that's like calling a bicycle a motor cycle substitute.
