I bought a brand new one in 2014, best thing I ever did. ABS brakes are shit though and my oil pressure switched failed last year at 12000 miles. £406 or so to replace it ! Thought I'd fit the Rottweiler kit while I had it stripped down to replace the £6 switch, now that kit is what seriously wakes the beast up !!!

Id a 2012 KTM990R and ride all over the UK and France. I was looking for fuel at 130 miles max. My only real problem was the clutch slave cylinder gave up so i replaced it with an Omeron one which was great. I also switched out the clutch fluid the dealer had {Magera blood i think} as it was crap and cooked in Paris and i replaced it with Citroen hydraulic suspension fluid, much cheaper and better i found. Its a great bike otherwise. The R model being very tall but ok for me at 6 foot plus. In the mountains roads even fully loaded with camping kit the KTM handled great and was loads of fun. The seat is narrow and quite hard but a sheep skin sorted that for me.

I had a 990r from new, put 30,000 miles on it with no issues at all. Save the regular consumable items. A great bike!

How on earth did an oil pressure switch cost that much to replace? the part costs about £7.00 from a KTM dealer. Was the rest of the cost labour charges?

Looks like it's a minter.
Check the service history to see if the water pump shaft and seal have been replaced, as they tend to go about 30K like mine at 31K. Also the head bearings. Should have had three valve services other than that. Check the usual and enjoy.
Far too clean and not muddy.

I disagree, that area of the bike always gets filthy real quick, depends if you are a polisher i suppose.
