Just nip the spokes up till they ping the same note as the rest.
It's what us S10 riders do all the time - well it gives us something to complain about

So that would be a dull note from the lollipop stick then,,,,,, :whistle: :laugh:

Paul sourced me a pair of Morad rims for my AT, had them anodised black and then laced them onto my hubs with HD SS spokes for a very reasonable price

Appreciate all the advice. Does Paul have a website/email/phone number? I did a cursory search on the internet but couldn't find much.

I think my POA is to tighten the two loose spokes myself then stick them on the bike and see if there are any noticeable issues. If there are then I'll give Paul Jackson a call.

Probably a compromise of spraying them up yourself, as a rebuild including stainless heavy duty spokes and anodised or powder coat will run to £600 mark as the bmws cross laced wheels are done by machine in the factory and the work involved doing these by individuals means most won't i think Hagon and one other firm were the only uk ones to actually take it on at the price i mention.

As said in other posts x spokes are a bit different to traditional wheels,
The runout tolerance is quite a lot , but the idea when building them is to get them running true as you torque the spokes up,if the rim is bent ,its bent ! You will not pull it true like a cycle wheel.
The rim is just too tough (thumbs)

Ok I've got myself a wheel balancer and a dial gauge with the aim of seeing how out of true they are. At this point I probably should have stuck them back on eBay rather than putting more money into an already deep hole but hey, it's fairly interesting and I'm learning something at least.

This is all for the front wheel, I'll have to buy an adapter if I want to do the same on the back.

Firstly I had to balance a wheel for the first time in my life




With the wheel balance (I think) I took to the dial gauge to measure the axial runout and got just shy of 4mm




I'm going to tighten the two loose spokes and see if that helps.

I guess I ought to try and work out in the rim is bent or has any flat spots.

4mm seems like a lot to me. Does anyone with more expertise than I have any advice? Do they need to be rebuilt or might they be ok on the bike?
