We buy things we don't need
With money we don't have
To impress people we don't even like

Big sticker saying drive on the right!
As others have said it's only France. So carry the same as you would if you were on a long trip in the UK + the usual legal stuff like bike docs etc.
I personally try to avoid the Autoroutes but you do need to use them sometimes so it's handy to have a bit of an idea how they work.

Thank you Pierre for info ref toll tags etc..and for showing me your horn!
What do you lot use if you get a puncture? and which of that slimy green stuff?
D you take a mini tyre pump or wing it garage to garage?
Wanna do some rough camping on the top of Mont Blanc soooo is this scorned upon or good to go?

For tubed tyres I put slime in them, tubeless I take a repair kit and in both cases I carry a very small 12v pump to inflate the tyre but they drain the battery very quickly so leave the engine running while it's operating.Helicoptermanr22 wrote:Fantastic replies. awesome, love the curry recommendation, will take a rogan josh and naan which I can heat on the manifold..

You've got to be joking about Mont Blanc but if you're not then the general rule is you can wild camp but must remove your tent during daylight hours.

Jesus H Christ, no wonder some of you guys can hardly get on yer bikes for the shite you carry. Been round the Alps a few times now and never taken anything more than a topbox and tankbag, some of you must take a trailer

I take it since you're asking on here that you're not an experienced winter mountaineer which is what you would have to be to camp on Mont Blanc in May.I took a fenicular train up one of the mountains near Mont Blanc one year in July where everyone else was skiing.

A little experienced but I was reading that the lower slopes are snow free and definitely camp-able? end of may to June?
RandG, do you tent it or B and B / hotel to save carrying all the associated camp shite?
