That seems reasonable. When the Honley came out we got to see one at the ABR midlands rally, it would be good if there was a demo bike and some road tests in the press.

The Rust review seemed to be very fair , I have no real concerns about the bike just the backup . Not a huge amount of money but a lot for a paperweight ? Though suppose with Alibaba etc its not such an issue .

Wow they do some pretty thorough reviews! WK400 came out really well (thumbs) It would be a great bike to buy in china and ride home it seems.

the 3000km service interval is pretty low ..id be thinking this would mainly be a oil change due to the air cooled motor being harder on the oil ..if that was the case it wouldnt be a big deal

Sorry if this doubles. I walked away from computer at work and what I thought was previous reply didn't show up.

I bought one a couple of weeks ago and have not had a chance to do alot on it yet and have only put a couple hundred kilometers on it.
The reply in the forum here about mychinamotor forum is fantastic under the Shineray X5. Read it you will learn a ton both good and bad.
My friend and I each bought one here in Saudi where we work. Hes UK and Im US and have done some riding together and were both looking for something to branch out from road riding into ADV and greenlaning (Although here its all brown...).
So far we've been happy. Saudi has some quality control issues as well at the dealership so add that to some of the things mentioned here already you need to take a look at it. However, the price is definitely right. The price equates to 3600 USD or just under 2500 GBP.
It rides great and the power is quite interesting. My first thumper so I didn't have a comparison for an off roader. I also ride a Suzuki GW250 Inazuma which is a fun upright naked street. This (here its called a Suske United but its your WK400 with a different paint job) Guy has power. The first gear is actually quite controlled so you don't feel like you will be thrown off and you can actually feel that it is holding itself back if that makes sense.
Once you hit second gear however if you pop the throttle hard you will lift the tire. I'm not a wheelie junkie and I'm sure you could do it in first as well but I've practically thrown myself off twice by not being prepared for just how much it unleashes out of the gate in second gear. On the road if you feather the clutch you really don't need first gear. You can start out in second and run like a scalded dog.
The kickstand is long (I mean long) if you read the review listed here from overland it addresses it. I've not heard why that was a decision but it feels like a gust of wind in the parking lot could tip it.
From the other guys that own one and researched it the engine is the old HOnda XR400 motor. A user manual and repair guide for that honda will get you far. I'm hoping as a real dealer and distributor the WK people will give you a proper manual and support. I will actually be contacting them soon to try and see what they have. IF my Suske actually came with anything the dealer here didn't have it.
For the price I've enjoyed it so far. I'm looking out for the issues that have been listed in places but really not much of it seems super dangerous or epic just annoyances like looking for lose bolts and putting loctite on anything that moves. Only minor niggle but it gets better as you drive is finding neutral. It is tough to find the first couple hours worth of driving but gets better and is easier to find coming down from second rather than up from first.

i went to look at one ..i must say there is alot of bike for not a lot of money

the dealer would not allow a test ride ..one of the main problems was that the staff at the shop new absalutly nothing ,i mean nothing about the bike ..didnt know what wareanty it had ..tank size ..service interval nowt

i kinda was intruged by it and asked them if i bought it and didnt like it after amonth if they would be prepared to buy it back and id take the hit on the money ....ive never heard anything from them
i read alot of that thread on the shineray x5 it didnt seem to be doing too bad but the most worrying thing was wheel failurs six or seven spokes letting go ..thats not too good but a wheel can be reshod with stainless spokes

but theres no denying the bike has a lot of good points ..be very interested to hear from you as you go along
