it does fella thanks for the reply, bike already has those tyres fitted and I'm happy with the grip , but not sure how many miles they've done , so a fresh set to go on before trip in July, on a different subject do you have any ground clearance issues?Moorso wrote:I put the PR4's on over a year ago and have about 6K on them so far....they are slightly (and I mean slightly) squared on the rear and the front tread is still good, but I am getting them replaced for another set next week.
Mileage was done loaded for touring (or with my Missus as a pillion). Also some of the roads were in very bad nick.
I found the grip from them in both wet and dry, genuinely, phenomenal.
Hope this helps!!

Ive a Tex and found PR4,s excellent on the road dry or wet but hopeless on anything other than metaled roads. Ground clearance wasent an issue even on the fire tracks and single track roads i seek out. I do believe i had better milage though from the original Metezler Tourance,s but many dont seem to like them. I diddent have any prob and they had at least some grip on loose stuff.

However Ed .. Im going to renew both front & rear before I go on my euro lap, & Im sticking with the Road Pilots mate, known good grip & as a dual compound they should last the miles, other posts suggest the Michelins are as good as anything out there .. better the devil you know & all that bud
ps was only having fun on the last reply .. more serious now lol

I would recommend a new set before a big(gish) trip.it does fella thanks for the reply, bike already has those tyres fitted and I'm happy with the grip , but not sure how many miles they've done , so a fresh set to go on before trip in July, on a different subject do you have any ground clearance issues?
I used to run Tourances and have to say that, until there is a move forward by another tyre manufacturer, I will be using PR4's going forward.
I have no ground clearance issues, and have been on some rough roads in the likes of Cork, Kerry etc. I would adjust the suspension though if fully loaded, but even if I don't have never had any issues. I also softened (by one click) the front suspension as it was very firm for me after factory set up.
