I think it's trying to go back to the 1950's to meet it's bobber parents. B)OnHellas wrote:I think that I could have bought one for the money that I've spent on the build!zimtim wrote:Or maybe you've built a time machine :whistle:hmy:

Ride another 99,998 miles and then sell the bike "as new"

You ve got a aussie speedo...turn it upside down..lol
Seriously as you ve rebuilt with a different speedo than fitted beforb..surely the speedo is at fault..a reverse gear is needed...what do the speedo manufacturers say?...
If it worked fine before with old speedo....umm check worm drive in wheel speedo sender..try it nother way!

Re: Speedo working backward ???
This is fairly straightforward
The drive gear in your front wheel turns the cable in one direction. Unfortunately the custom speedo requires a cable driven in the opposite direction. (The chances are, even if it ran in the correct direction the speedo would not be accurate.) Not sure there is an easy solution other than going to a digital digital unit.

Does it really matter?
Come the MOT, or whatever they do in Greece, the mileage will be different.

Mm, that was my conclusion.puppycharmer wrote:This is fairly straightforward

But the speedo looks so nice and I definitely don't want a digital one.
Accuracy isn't so important, although would be nice.
Maybe I need to research other speedo units. Gotta be small though, that one fits so well in the cut down/machined top yolk.
Thanks for your feedback and ideas.

I've ridden to Greece a couple of times, but I don't fancy it on the Bobber.
Maybe you're suggesting that I do the Hellas Rally Raid on it next year instead of the KTM690?????

It may be faulty, the speedo cable and drive are new. A reverse gear would be good. I was thinking about opening it up to have a peek inside and see if anything can be changed. :S
