Yes you can put petrol in Zippo lighters, but it does evaporate quite easily. Just buy a 75p lighter from the newsagent!
This.
Or buy 5 for a quid in Poundshops.

I have a Zippo... and while its quite old skool cool, gas lighters are far better because they don't constantly let the fuel evaporate. You also have to feck about replacing flints in a Zippo.
Zippos aint cheap either, at least a tenner and above.

Thanks for the input!
Jet boil, good but too bulky, very limited space!
There are two things I hate....cheap thin black plastic bin bags and crap plastic disposable lighters, you either burn your fingers or they fall to bits!
I'am going to test the solid fuel stove properly right now, see how long it takes to boil 0.5 ltrs.

.....ok the performance of the solid fuel stove is a nothing like a butane stove. It was 12 minutes to get 0.5 ltrs of water to brew temp. Plus the residue needs to be got rid of. What a pity, I am really trying to cut down on my kit.
I think I need to sacrifice either the monopoly set or snakes and ladders to make room for the butane canisters.
