Re: grwyne fawr
I can't at the moment, but have asked the question of a man who can.
I'll keep you posted.

Here's the reply from the head of Rights of Way at the TRF
this is another of those Powys Lanes that they now claim to be Restricted Byway and as such have put these signs in place to deter users from riding it.
It has been PTRO for many years and used to be exempt for motorcycles but as a restricted byway now as a result of NERC it is "allegedly" now closed to all motor vehicles. You are unlikely to be prosecuted for using it but I certainly could not advise anyone to try and get away with it. I believe it is part of Roger Williams MP constituency, and he will push for prosecution if he can as he did with Sarn Helen.

thanks for the reply Richard that was a cracking lane another nail in the coffin ,and ufortunately closing these main lanes that link one end of the black mountains just causes more riders to use other tracks to get to a legal one , case in point when the monks trod first had tro , so we went round the clerwyn and that caused more problems ,

What's needed is for someone to collate evidence of vehicle use prior to NERC and present it as a defence.
Just because its a restricted byway doesn't mean that it may not have vehicular rights.

This should not be a problem, most people that trail ride will have pics and a tale to tell of this lane
plus there used to be a memorial plaque at the sharp end if i recall? proof of use with a definitive date attached.
