no it chemically bonds and forms a self healing skin. it will wash off eventually in exposed areas, but months rather than 1 wet like WD40 or FS365. and WD attracts and holds water and causes corrosion, thats why its banned on aircraft and we used ACF

I managed to get some on one of my brake discs. I tried everything to get it off. only time and friction did the trick eventually. It proved to me that once on, it's on.

Don't mind the cost then. Just ordered some

I invested in this set-up a couple of years ago.
Comes with a self priming atomiser. Best to stand it in hot water for a bit to thin it out.
I've been treating three bikes regulary, still have loads left. Good investment imo.

I've seen this from Toolstation suggested as a cheaper solution elsewhere, not used it myself but at only £3.48 a can it might be worth trying

I've been using it for years now and it really is worth the money. Always used the spray cans but recently found out about the bottle you refill and pressurise by hand. It makes the stuff last a lot longer and it doesn't come out all foamy like it does with the spray cans. Bit expensive to start with but I bought this in September last year and I'm expecting it to last well past September this year and probably a lot longer, and I tend to use it more often than is needed really.

You fill the smaller bottle to the halfway point then use a removable plunger thing on top to give it some pressure and away you go. Cost me £25. You've got to ask yourself how much you'd spend on a year or more's worth of WD-40 or whatever and then work out how many more hours of faffing around it'll take.

I still use WD40, but not for long term stuff, use it as a penetrating oil for the rusty nuts etc. That's why Dumpy's gigs always smell of WD-40 :laugh:

Edit: Just noticed Treadtrader posted about it as I was typing, what he says though, stand in in warm water.

My bike was drowned in ACF50 when I picked it up from dealers a couple of years ago and I just top it up as and when, probably use one can a year so works out cheap in the end
It does attract dirt but you know the bike is protected underneath, just give a good spring clean when the salt has gone but I still use it on black plastics and engine in the summer as they come up like new

When you coat the bike in acf50, you just need to give it a rinse now and again with cold water to wash off excess salt. I rode my tiger all last winter after prepping it with acf50, every 2 or three rides rinsed it with a hose. In the spring when I cleaned it properly, not even a hint of corrosion on any bolt head or exposed bit of metal at all. It goes a lot further if you wipe it on rather than spray it, lots gets wasted that way unless you put a tray underneath.
