I got up this morning to discover the one of the worst incidents a biker could have? Garage door open, and no motor bikes where you left them the previous evening!
I cant believe it! there was a EXC525 and a DT125LC. The Ktm was even stripped for service and all of the plastics, tank seat, and headlight were stashed elsewhere in the garage --- all gone!
My lads DT was taken, and even my mountain bike to add insult.
Looking at it now, i know i should have had beefier security but, its a thing to get around to doing?
Anyway, the reason for the post is that the police (who have been brilliant) told me to post to ABR ( who I told I was a member ) that there is a massive increase in this type of thefts of Trail Bikes over the last year.
The police think that it is because they can be stripped and used as dirt bikes with no history (which is normal for a crosser) rather than say an R1 that can only be used as a registered (?) road bike, or track bike.
Please check your security as i didn't think this would ever happen to me, to be proved very wrong!
Please email me if you see a unusually cheap 525 kicking around on any of the sites?
Cheers
